In Paris 1 as elsewhere, not always easy to be disabled
Many students with disabilities in a precarious situation. Conditions of study harder, heavier loads, insufficient aid and scholarships (disability allowance), in these conditions ... How not to be affected by uncertainty is when Disabled student?
Some students forego graduate or drop out due to lack of planning and lack of substantial financial aid. A situation that we find in Paris 1. Some situations are impossible to Paris 1 for a disabled student. Yet the 2005 law requires certain changes. Far from being followed, it must be said, Paris is a troll!
Today, for a student with disabilities, in wheelchairs, it is impossible to go to the cafeteria GFP center. A blind student has no access to or during Braille booklets (including AES or law, and under-utilization of PPE reinforces the marginality of these students). Despite the many efforts of the relay handicap or volunteers, this kind of situation grows, and we need to stop! One full-time position is dedicated to this task. The volunteers, mostly students, are not sufficient to ensure acceptable conditions of study. If other universities have gone very far in development, a Paris neglecting their situation completely! Instead of providing the facilities needed that would benefit all students, the university prefers to marginalize them and keep them in a precarious situation.
Because fighting with students with disabilities is to fight against insecurity and
discrimination require:
• The installing a ramp to the cafeteria
• The digitization and translation of booklets TD
• Developments in the lecture halls (taken
electric) that will benefit all students
• L planning a work room for the use of
audiovisual and computer equipment necessary for
certain disabilities, as well as strengthening positions
home in the University Libraries of Paris 1 .
• The hiring of personnel for the hospitality and assistance
• Funding University Fund (SIDF) for
students in financial
